We’ve got more pics of Angelina at the Council on Foreign Relations Forum in Washington DC. The forum topic was Iraq, Education, and Children of Conflict.

Pictured left to right are Gene Sperling(Senior Fellow for Economic Policy and Director of the Center on Universal Education), Angelina, Safaa El-Kogali( Sudanese national, is an education economist in the Human Development Unit in the Africa Region of the World Bank) and George Rupp

The forum looked at the the plight of nearly 1 million Iraqi refugee children.
“This population we’re talking about is the future of Iraq,” said Angelina “So to reach them now, to help deal with their trauma and refocus their minds on a possible future should absolutely be one of our top priorities. We need these kids. . . . We need them to rebuild their country, to stabilize their country and eventually lead their country.”
Angelina talked about General Patraeus and his view of the war. Patraeus was actually speaking to congress on the war in Iraq at nearly the same time.
“Petraeus would agree that a surge does not just mean it works if you get numbers of violence down,” she said. “It works if humanitarian aid is starting to increase and changes are able to be made. He knows that this is the time to start making some big changes and some big steps forward for the people.”
Angelina also presented Mariane Pearl with an award while in DC.
