Angelina Jolie Watch

I posted yesterday that Angelina and Brad bought a sprawling French estate. According to People, the couple actually has only signed a three year lease.

The couple, who have four children and two more on the way, signed a three-year lease on the 880-acre estate called Chateau Miraval, where neighbors will include Johnny Depp and David and Victoria Beckham, according to the French newspaper Nice Matin.

Whatever the case, congrats on the beautiful secluded property.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally made permanent move to France. The couple recently purchased a 1,000-acre, $60 million estate in the south of France. The property has more than 35 bedrooms, a vineyard, moat and forest. The property is called Chateau Miraval and is situated in a small village called Brignol near Aix-en-Provence.

An insider says, “Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it’s massive…The whole family can’t wait to move in.”

The very dense forest will afford the family a great deal of privacy. “No one will ever be able to get pictures of them relaxing at home, it’s just impossible.”

Angie and Brad are expected to move in within the next three months.

This is a longer look at the Changeling. I cannot wait until this hits theaters. According to IMBD, the movie will debut in US theaters on November 7th. That date sound a long way out to me. Cannes debuts usually premier in theaters in in the summer or(at the latest) the early fall. More terrific reviews are pouring in for Angelina.

“Thanks to her media profile, Jolie cuts such an absurd figure it is easy to forget how accomplished she can be. This is a performance of subtlety and power.” (Not sure how I feel about the absurd part. The writer seems to equate her personality with her media persona. Still it’s a good review) .

We’ve got more from Angelina and Brad’s dinner date the other night. I love this video. It shows Brad and Angie being extra loving and Brad’s jokingly shooing the paps away.

I’m hearing rumblings that the movie’s name has been changed to The Exchange. I haven’t had time to verify that but that’s how this AP video from today’s photocall has it listed  previously had it listed as that.  It may be plausible. This video gives us our first glimpse of Angelina doing her thing in the movie. (At least it’s new to me). Angelina says some nice things about Eastwood. Enjoy.

We knew that Angelina and Brad dined with Clinton Eastwood last night. We’ve also learned that Mick Jagger at six other people joined the power couple. The party of eight dined at Tetou Restaurant in Golfe-Juan, France on Monday evening. Tetou is a trendy spot, know for it’s celeb clientele and fabulous bouillabaisse.

Angelina blinged it up at the Changeling premier in her Remy Acra gown. The gray/taupe gown featured a bejeweled neckline and comfy fit for our mommy to be. She also glammed up the hair for her last public event at Cannes. The moves is getting some terrific reviews.

The Hollywood Reporters says:

“Jolie completely shuns her movie star image to play a woman whose confidence in everything she thinks she knows is shaken to its very core. She can appear vulnerable and steadfast in the same moment. This woman has a depth she herself has never explored.”

Variety added their own praise:

“As she did in A Mighty Heart, Jolie plays a woman abruptly and agonizingly deprived of the person closest to her. But impressive as she may have been as the wife of Danny Pearl, her performance here hits home more directly due to the lack of affectation — no accent, frizzed hair or darkened complexion, and no attempt to consciously rein in emotion. There are inevitable one-note aspects to her Christine Collins, as she must exasperatedly repeat her positions to the authorities again and again. But Jolie makes it clear Christine maintains a grip on her sanity in the face of many assaults on its stability.

Angelina reverted to her classic black earlier today at the Changeling photocall at the Palais des Festivals at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. The movie, directed by Clint Eastwood, is based on a real case involving a missing child and a serial killer.

Angelina plays the mom of a missing boy that has supposedly been returned but Mom has her doubts about it. Angelina’s character is Christie Collins whose son Walter went missing March 10, 1928. Serial killer Gordon Northcott and his accomplice mother were held responsible for the boy’s killing. Who knows if the film will stay true to real life events. There’s a bit of Oscar buzz surrounding this film. We’ll see if the critics agree after tonight’s debut. Actually it’s more like an hour or so for us in the States.

Angelina looks like she’s wearing a man’s jacket. Maybe Brad’s?

Angelina Jolie Clint Eastwood Changeling Cannes

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked gorgeous as they left their Cannes hotel to attend dinner with Clint Eastwood. Angelina’s strapless, multi-colored dress is by Nicole Miller and her bag is Bally.

The couple is staying at Eden Roc Hotel during the festival. The hotel dates back to 1863 and is THE place for celebs during Cannes. Hotel amenities  include a cliff top swimming pool, four star French restaurant, in house spa and private pier. I wonder if the family took Paul Allen’s yatch to the property?

Angelina and Clint’s film The Changeling debuts tomorrow.

Last week the Today show “scooped” Angelina’s due date. Other sources insist that she’s actually due much sooner. I’m not sure what the truth but I seriously doubt that she’s due in August. When do you guys think Angelina will have the babies?

Angelina, Brad, Maddox and Shiloh were spotted today shopping in Cannes at the trendy Bonpoint children’s boutique. The family bought white, white and more white for the twins in sizes ranging from 1-3 months. There’s lot of speculation on the sex of the babies. According to Fox News, Angelina confirmed that she’s having fraternal twins.

Fox News’ Roger Friedman says that Angelina told him that there was a line on the sonagram that indicated the her babies were not perfect copies of one another. Neither Brad nor Angie have confirmed the sex of the baby. People says that Angie and Brad have no idea what sex the babies are. An employee asked if Angie was expecting boys or girls, she replied, “I don’t know yet – we don’t want to know.”

I suspect that Angie and Brad know the sex of the babies. I’m sure they’d like to keep something private. Lord knows everything in their lives is for public consumption. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I know I’m doing this backwards but I finally got a chance to sit down and post pictures from the Kung Fu Panda photocall from earlier today.  When asked if the feel good movie about a lovable Panda gives the message that being overweight is okay, Angelina gave the media and emphatic “No”.  Instead she said the cartoon encourages people to embrace “whatever makes you different, whatever is unique about you, embrace it and try to be yourself.”

Angelina called the film a ” classic tale, with a nice moral message that as a parent you feel your children can watch.”   Angelina also said that the family is considering staying in France for the birth.   Angelina wore Thomas Wyde for the session.  Co-stars Dustin Hoff and Jack Black look like loads of fun.

According to Access Hollywood, Angelina has confirmed that she’s indeed having twins. In an interview that took place on Wednesday in Cannes, Angelina told Today’s Natalie Morales that she and Brad are expecting two little ones. Here’s a snippet of the co-interview she did with Jack Black to promote Kung Fu Panda:

“You’re gonna have as many as (the) ‘Brady Bunch’ when you have these,�? Jack joked.

“It’s confirmed? Is it two?�?, Natalie asked.

“Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already,�? Angelina responded. “Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually.�?

“Is that true?�?, Jack said jokingly.

“Yeah, you did,�? Angelina replied.

“Sorry,�? Jack concluded.

“So you’re having twins?�?, Natalie asked, as Angelina nodded with a ‘yes.’

“Do you know the sexes of the babies�?, Natalie asked. “Or, are you keeping that private?�?

“We would like to keep that private,�? Angelina said.

“Are you going to stay here in France to deliver?�?, Natalie also asked at one point.

“Possibly,�? Angelina responded.

I’m wondering if the delivery in France is a red herring. Surely she knows where she plans to have her babies by now? A snippet of the segment will air on Access Hollywood tonight while the interview in it’s entirety will air tomorrow morning on Today. Now that we know it’s twins, I wonder if it’s two boys, two girls or one of each. Only time will tell. Did you guess twins or just a single baby?

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Maddox and Pax returned from today’s sail. You can just make out out Pax’s feet behind the guy in the brown pants. Maddox is getting so tall. He won’t be able to swing between mom and dad much longer. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge images.

The family is really enjoying their mini-break. Today Angelina, Brad and the boys were spotted enjoying Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s yacht Tatoosh. The couple is already partaking of Allen’s Villa Maryland in St. Jean Cap Ferrat.

Tatoosh was purchased by Allen in 2001 for $100 million. It features:

• Five decks

• a master suite, a saloon and other rooms on the top deck;

• a saloon with a French limestone fireplace, a dining area, staterooms and a ladies’ powder room on the main deck

• a lobster tank

• a shaded six-foot deep swimming pool

• a movie theater

• facilities to transport two helicopters on the top two decks

The boat was presumably named for Tatoosh Island off the coast of Washington State.
