Well we finally know where Angelina and Maddox were headed a few days ago-well Angelina least. (There are rumors that she and Maddox will also attend a children’’s conference in Jordan and I doubt she took Maddox to Iraq.)

Angelina is visited and Iraqi refugee settlement where “20,000 Iraqis live, unable to return to their homes because of sectarian violence.”

This Angelina’s third visit to the war torn region. One she made while pregnant with twins.

Angelina visited the region because support waning for the refugees in the area.

“It is the most critical time,” Jolie told CNN. “I think this will make the difference in the future of Iraq and in the future of a country that is so crucial to our world and our security and this region in the world. It is in the hands of the government to now really step up.”

“It’s for all of us not to feel like ‘Oh, let’s move on.’ There are so many other things that are grabbing our headlines,” she added. “This region of the world, the stability of this region is important to all of us,” she said.

“There are still three million people displaced, innocent families,” Angelina said. “We have still many young men and women from our country who are fighting every day, there are men and women from all countries who have lost their lives, and this is a time to try to make some positive change.”

“The UNHCR has been doing everything it can,” she said. “It’s been building houses. It’s having funding issues. It’s only half-funded this year. It takes six months to be able to build a house.

“So they’re not going to get enough money to be able to build all the houses that they want to build, to be able to facilitate anybody that does want to come home. They’ll be able to do something, but not as much as they could if they were given all the support.”

UNHCR estimates that 1.6 million Iraqis were internally displaced by a wave of sectarian warfare that erupted in February 2006 after the bombing of a mosque in the ancient city of Samarra. Almost 300,000 have returned to their homes amid a general improvement in the security situation since mid-2008.

Since April last year, UNHCR has provided emergency shelter rehabilitation and shelter upgrade to 5,000 families. Close to 20,000 homes will be rehabilitated by the end of this year. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi refugees remain in neighbouring countries, mainly Syria and Jordan.

Maddox Jolie-Pitt is much cooler that you and he knows it. Check this guy out. Wearing one wrist band and sunglasses Maddox and mom Angelina caught a departing flight earlier today. Not sure where Angie is headed but word on street is that she’d just started already started her fittings for the Salt press tour when he publicist’s house was broken into. Last Thursday Angelina’s longtime stylist Jennifer Rade had three boxes of dresses stolen from her home.

“Angelina was just starting the fitting process for pieces to wear when she begins promoting Salt. Every designer who was sending pieces was trying to send their best stuff,” a source told the NY Post.

Gosh didn’t Angie just finish wrapping up Salt. Is it time to think about the press junket already?

Soccer star David Beckham called foul on rumors that he and and Angelina Jolie are set to model for  Armani. “I don’t think that’s true,” David told Extra. “I definitely don’t think that’s true. Think it’s something put out in the press.”

Rumors started swirling last week that Angelina was the new face of an Armani fragrance. Several sources said that Angelina would do a photo shoot with David who’s currently the international face of the fashion powerhouse. One “insider” even said that the company was trying to smooth things over with Brad and Victoria.

“Armani bosses are now trying to coax Mrs Beckham, 35, and Jolie’s partner Brad Pitt, 45, into approving the idea of a joint advertisement to avoid any off-screen friction,” a tabloid reported.

David denounced the entire idea:
“She’s an amazing person and so is Brad. They’re an incredible couple — got an amazing family. You know she wouldn’t do it and I wouldn’t do it. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t do it because I’m married.”

Oh well it was a fun rumor while it lasted.

Angelina practiced landing and take-offs  last Thursday in Burbank. Angie wore black pants and tank top to meet her flight instructor for the lesson.

“She seemed like she was in a good mood,” a witness told US magazine. “When she got off the plane, she hopped off. She seemed pretty energetic. She had a spring in her step.”

Angie flew a Cirrus SR-22 single engine plane. I don’t know if this is Angie’s plane. She did buy a single-engine Cirrus SR22 in 2005 for about $340,000.

The next day Angelina took a private plane from “Bob Hope Airport and flew for 24 minutes before landing at Big BearCity, about 100 miles east of Burbank” with Shiloh and Zahara. The trio stay in the resort town for about two hours.

I’m not sure if Angelina was flying this time or not.

Rumor alert:

The internet is buzzing with rumors that Angelina will appear in an Armani ad alongside David Beckham.  The soccer superstar is currently the international face of the fashion house while his wife Victoria fronts their underwear line. The rumors mill says that Angelina will endorse the company’s new perfume.

The Daily Star insists that Angelina has signed a three year deal with Armani and that the label hopes to coax her into posing with David Beckham.

“She is arguably the world’s biggest woman star and he is the most sought-after man,” an industry honcho said about two stars.  “Putting them in front of a camera together would be electric.”

Victoria and David cross branded for the company with a racy add campaign last year.

The British tabloids adds that “Armani bosses are now trying to coax Mrs Beckham, 35, and Jolie’s partner Brad Pitt, 45, into approving the idea of a joint advertisement to avoid any off-screen friction.”  (This part doesn’t sound very authentic to me but what do I know.)

“The two are exceptionally beautiful on camera. But both are in committed relationships. So the advert would have to be sexy without offending their partner,” another insider says. (That makes sense.)

I’ve no idea if this is true or not but I do think Angelina would be a terrific face of the Italian fashion house.    If this does all come to fruition,  I’ll bet the ads will be fun and sexy without going over the line.  I’d love to see Angelina and Brad do some sexy photos again.  It’s been too long since they met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Okay everyone together. Awwww. Angelina took her two oldest daughters “to a dance class called “The Princess Series” on Monday in Studio City, Calif.” You’ll notice that Miss Z is sticking out her tongue at photogs.

Not sure how long the family will be in California.  Rumor has it that Brad’s Moneyball was pulled days before it was set to start filming in California. Maybe they’ll take a break for a few months. It was Brad’s turn to start filming so Angelina probably doesn’t have anything scheduled.

IMDB doesn’t show any more projects for Angelina this year and Brad’s next project (The Lost City of Z) is only scouting locations right now.   Who knows how long the family will stay in the states.  They may head down to New Orleans for a bit then back to Europe where they seem to be able to escape the paps.

That Forbes is at it again. They do love their polls and surveys. This time around it’s not the most powerful title that Angelina garnered but highest paid actress. According to the financial magazine, Angelina scores an average of $27 million per film. She’s followed closely by Jennifer Aniston who makes $25 million a picture. Angelina’s salary is attributed to her highly successful action films. Wanted brought in $341 million world wild.

Still woman earned substantially lower salaries than their male counterparts. According to Just Jared “top 10 actors earned $393 million, compared with $183 million for the top 10 actresses.”

There hasn’t been much Angelina news of late and I’ve never been one to post just for the sake of posting but we finally have some news. A few months back I reported that Angelina’s first film was being released on DVD this summer. Looks like Tuesday(the 30th) is the day. Lookin to Get Out, which starred Angie’s dad John Voight and Ann Margaret is Angie’s first big screen role. She played a  little girl who’s never met her father. The dad is played by Jon Voight. (Ironic I know.)

The film didn’t do well the first time around both the critical reception and box office were poor. “Hal was working on two other films at the time (of the movie’s release), and there was a lot of drama. Our film was handed over to other editors, and the result was a crippled movie. We were very hurt by the reception.” John Voight told the New York Post.

Voight decided to rerelease the filming after learning the director recut the film before he died in 1988.

“I was a co-writer and co-producer, so I had a lot to say about the casting… Angie was terrific, very well-prepared. I wasn’t looking for any signs whether she’d be an actress… Hal’s hand is in every single frame,” Voight added. “Finally, this is the film he intended. It’s like a message in a bottle.”

The plot focuses on two “on-the-run gamblers who hightail it to Las Vegas in an attempt to score big and avoid the thugs trying to collect on their gambling debts.”

Sounds like a fun film.

Angelina wasn’t actually able to sit down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper (his plane hit some bad whether) but the two did manage to pull off a satellite interview about the refugee crisis around the world. Angelina has used this week’s activities to focus a spotlight on the international refugee crisis.

Anderson stuck mostly to topic but couldn’t resist asking if she and Brad planned on more kids. (His excuse was that everyone in the office wanted to know. Right Anderson.) Angelina smiled and said, “We love children, we want a big family, so we never - you know, never say no.”

So many kids so many birthdays:
“I do have the twins, and I just had Shi in May. We have so many kids that we just have year-round birthdays. It’s a lot of fun now ’cause the older kids are old enough to help plan the birthdays for the younger kids. So it’s one of the great pleasures of life, the birthdays.”

How she’s been effected by her meeting with a paralyzed 15-year-old refugee orphan:

“He had this really remarkable, unbreakable spirit, a spirit beyond anything I can imagine.

“He had lost everything and he was just so full of laughter and kindness. He passed away a few months after I was there. And so I always wonder about him and young people that you meet and you just think, in any other situation, if this person had been given a chance, what an extraordinary adult he would have been.”

Today Angelina Jolie, NBC reporter Ann Curry and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres attended the 2009 World Refugee Day Commemoration at the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C.

“Refugees have profoundly changed my life. They have taught me what it is to be brave … to be a mother … to have strength of character,” Angelina told the crowd referring to her 8 years as UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.

“There are millions of desperate families, so cut off from civilization that they don’t even know [World Refugee Day] exists,” she added.

Angelina also reiterated the World Refugee Day theme “Real People, Real Needs”.

“I believe we must persuade the world that refugees must not be simply viewed as a burden,” she said. “They are the survivors. And they can bring those qualities to the service of their communities and the countries that shelter them.”

Angelina also sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper this evening to talk about the plight of refugees around the world. (We don’t have the video just.) In that interview, she talked about how her work with refugees effects how she raises her kids.

“I usually just explain to [my kids] that there are other families in the world that aren’t as fortunate as ours and other kids’…And so I tell them that it’s important for all of us to do what we can and then go to these places and understand what’s happening.Hopefully I’ll take them to as many countries as I can and raise them witwith an education of the world.”

“And I think by…meeting them, by making friends with these type of people and these type of children, it will make my children better people as they get older,” she added.

Designer Malcom Hariss admits he hung up on AngelinaJolie-twice.  Angelina called the designer to order three of his “One Dress” enesembles.  After explaining that they are both particpating in World Refugee Day activities, Angelina  finally convinced Harris that she was indeed Angelina Jolie.   Angelina bought three of the dresses for $225 each.

“I was so flattered,” the designer said.

“One Dress”  was designed via the internet by over 1.000 women from around the world.

Women shared  “their likes and dislikes in fabrics, colors, necklines, silhouettes, seasons, etc.”

US magazine says part of the proceeds go to the UNHCR.  Harris also founded Designer’s for Dafur and contributed to Fashion for Food. Sounds like Angelina’s kind of guy.

You can wear the dress a number of ways.  I wonder what Angelina will do with the design.  Maybe she’ll even wear it this week.

Coming fast on the heels of the Pitt clan’s donation to a Missouri hospital, is another large donation from the Jolie-Pitt family.  Today, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation announced a gift of $1 million to the United Nations Refugee Agency specifically to help Pakistani refugees. Angelina has been to Pakistan three times during her time as Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR but it was too dangerous to film there while she worked on A Mighty Heart.  Agency head António Guterrest thanked the foundation for their contribution.  He said the situation in Pakistan is “the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade.” More than 2 million people have been displaced.

On Thursday, Angie will appear on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 and host a World Refugee Day reception in Washington D. C. on (Hillary Clinton will be there as well.)  Angelina will  also appear on Friday’s Today Show.

When Brad Pitt recently plunked down $1 million for a painting, we actually had a commenter who criticized Brad for waisting money that should have gone to charity.  (Oh the haters.)  Once again, Brad has shown how generous he is. (Not that he needed to. What he does with his money is his business.)

Brad’s brother Doug Pitt announced last week that the “Brad Pitt family, Doug and Lisa Pitt and Rob and Julie Neal” are donating $1 million to St. John’s hospital in Brad’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri.

St. John will rename the cancer unit in honor of Brad’s mother. The Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center will use the funds to create an endowment that will hire cancer specialists, add additional beds, build a hospital based Ronald McDonald House and increase the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.

Kudos to Angelina, Brad and the entire Pitt family.

For obvious reasons to use uber fans, this is strange news but apparently Angelina is back for Wanted 2. Wanted director Timur Bekmabetov told a Russian news outlet that Angelina will return for the smash hit’s sequel. “In July, we will start preparation for the film. I think in late autumn or winter, shooting will be performed,” Bekmabetov said. “The shooting will take place in America, India and Russia.”

Angelina Jolie continues to bring attention the plight of refugees around the world.  This year’s PSA urges us not to ignore those that have been displaced by war, famine or environmental factors.

“Please don’t turn away. Refugees are the most vulnerable people on earth. Every day, they are fighting to survive. They deserve our respect. Please do not forget them. Remember them on this day. World Refugee Day,” Angelina says.

The theme for the year’s World Refugee day is “Real People, Real Needs”. The UNHCR asks everyone to remember refugees even in the midst of our the world financial crisis:

Of the millions of people forcibly displaced by conflict, persecution and natural disasters, every one has a story to tell; they are real people, just like you and me, and they have real needs. But, despite the best efforts of UNHCR and many others, many of these basic needs are far from being met.

A comprehensive assessment of the needs of refugees and other people cared for by the UN refugee agency revealed that 30 percent were unmet - a third of them in basic and essential services. Improvements in nutrition and water supplies, access to primary health care, strengthened child protection programmes, better protection for women from sexual violence and abuse, and improvements in living conditions and sanitation facilities are just some of the needs that are not being met worldwide.

This World Refugee Day we ask you to remember the millions of forcibly displaced and stateless people under our care who are struggling with their day-to-day lives. One thing connects them all: basic needs that must be met so they have a chance to rebuild their lives.
