Angelina Jolie Watch

The Jolie-Pitts managed to leave the US without much fanfare and have landed in Japan.  The family landed arrive at Narita International Airport on Tuesday in Narita, Chiba, Japan. The family’s in town for the Japanese Bejamin Button premiere.

As a result, we get to see clear photos of the twins probably since birth. Brad carried Knox and was flanked by Pax and Zahara while Angelina held on to Vivenne, Shiloh and Pax.

According to Angelina, the family is more than used to traveling. “Our kids are always packing. They like to pack; it’s a game in our house.”

As any working mother knows time to oneself is rare, “It can get very hard trying to find 20 minutes to close your eyes if you’ve been up since four in the morning,” Angelina said. “We travel so much, we never have to adjust. We change school time to four in the afternoon if we have to!”

In an interview with England’s GMTV, Angelina revealed that she weaned twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline after three months of breastfeeding. “It’s very hard. I stopped at three months, [it was] about as much as I could do.”

“There’s this football hold – it’s a lot harder than it looks in the books,” she said in the prerecorded interview. “I did that a few times. I would take turns. It just takes a long time.”

She also revealed the timing of the twins conception. “We decided to start trying in the beginning[of Changeling filming], and by the end I was.”

I really admire Angelina for sharing her parenting struggles. Sometimes the press can make celebrity parents look like they never experience any of the ups and downs of parenting. I’m sure lots of women relate to the difficulty of breastfeeding twins. Part 1 and 2 of the interview are below.

Angelina looked stunning at the DVD release of Kung Fu Panda and the premiere of the companion adventure story, Secrets of the Furious Five earlier today in Hollywood.

Angie talked about  4-month-old Vivienne and Knox and their blossoming personalities.  “They’re great. They’re still so little, but they do [have their own personalities], she the mom of six said.   She added that the twins are getting very “smiley” and their personalities are starting to “shine.”

The rest of the kids are proud of the film.  “I think it’s a great film, and it’s brought a lot of joy to children – and to my children, absolutely,” Jolie told People magazine. “My kids love it. They’re very very proud, they’ve got mom  dolls.”

While Brad has expressed his support for Barack Obama and attended his acceptance speech in Chicago, Angie still isn’t letting own who she voted for.   “I was pleased to see how excited so many people were,” she said at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre event.

Angelina, Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman were on hand were present when DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg “presented a check for $1 million to the Conservation International in support of their efforts for the preservation of pandas in their natural habitat.”

Angelina was pleased that proceeds from the movie could do some good. “We are so privileged in everything we get to do in this business, and the amount of money this film has made. To be able to share that and do some good always feels good.”

In a recent interview with German Vanity Fair, Angelina Jolie talked about the things she likes about  presidential candidate Barack Obama.
“Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay,” she said. “They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family.”

As if we didn’t know parenting twins is tough.
“It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket.  Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion.”

The twins have a special bond.
“When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”

On being famous family.
“Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

The first picture of Brad Pitt’s photos of Angelina Jolie for W magazine have surfaced along with snippets of the W interview.

Here’s what she say about the intimate portraits:
“I’m with a man who’s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful, because of the journey it has taken and what it has created. He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel even sexier.”

About deciding to give birth to children:
“I think one of the life changing things that he did, one of many, is that I was absolutely never going to get pregnant. I never felt that it was the right thing to do. I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to (getting pregnant). I suddenly wanted to. It’s one of those things you can’t explain.”

About giving birth to three of her six children:
“I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. It taught me a lot about life, just the process of it, and now we have three other beautiful children that wouldn’t otherwise be here.

About her relationship with Brad:
“I do think that I’m in a good partnership now. I think it just needed to be the right man.”

You can just make out a little hand in the picture.  I wonder which of the twins it is.  I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.  Looks like Brad did a fantastic job.  This interview will reveal a lot about the family.  Kudos to our favorite couple for sharing their lives with us.

Okay yesterday they were in New Orleans and couple of days before that they were in New York and few days before that they were Germany and now they’ve returned to France.  Brad and Angie touched down at the Nice airport today with all six kids.  Brad and Angelina will soon return to Germany for Brad’s Inglorious Bastards’ shoot. Brad is southern character will be one of the only English speaking rolls in the film.

According to IMDB, to Angie is next slated to star in The Mercenary: Love and Honor. Angelina plays Catherine the Great who’s been asked “to provide twenty thousand Russian soldiers to help put down the resistance in America.” An American emissary is sent to squash the deal and the two fall in love. The moveis based on Love and Honor by Randall Wallace.

Looks like Angelina already has the birth location coordinates of the twins tattooed on her her arm.  Now that was fast. I wondered if was safe for breastfeeding mom’s to get tattoos.  This is what the La Leche League had to say:

“Tattoos are created by injecting ink into the dermal (second and third) layer of the skin. Tattooists use a hand-held electric machine that is fitted with solid needles coated in the ink. The needles enter the skin hundreds of times a minute to a depth of up to a few millimeters. The ink that is used in tattoos in the United States is subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics, but none are approved for injection under the skin. However, the ink molecules are too large to pass into breastmilk.”

I’m not sure Angie got her tattoo in New York, France or Germany though I’d imagine the ink used in industrialized countries is the very similar. I plugged the coordinates into a Longitude and Latitude finder and I ended up in France though not Nice. I’m sure it was user error. Let me know if you guys have any better luck.

The newest members of the Jolie-Pitt brood racked up record sells for People magazine. According to Womens’ Wear Daily, the Viv and Knox issue was the biggest seller in seven years, and is the fourth highest newsstand seller in the magazine’s 35-year history.”

The twins are behind Sept. 11 issue (4.1 million single copies), Princess Diana’s death (3 million) and the one covering the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. (2.8 million). Shiloh’s cover only managed to sell 2.2 mill. (I’m sure she’s crushed. /sarcasm.)

The Viv and Knox cover stayed on the stands longer than usual as well. The issue was released on Monday, Aug. 4, two days before the usual Wednesday drop date. It will remain on stands until tomorrow.

People also raised the cover price for the twins from “$4.49, or 50 cents more than its regular price.”

In addition to the print revenue, the cover had a large online presence. The site had six million unique visitorsduring the first 24 hours after the cover went online. People.com usually averages 8 million unique visitors a month.

People has responded to rumors that they photo-shoped the smile on baby Vivienne Marcheline’s 3-week- old face for the twins recent cover. New York Magazine suggested(playfully it seems) that Vivienne was too young to respond to outside stimuli with a smile.

These babies are purported to be a mere 3 weeks old! Parenting magazine says that babies don’t smile from exterior stimulation until two to four months — even if said exterior stimulation is the most beautiful pair of humans in the entire world. Conspiracy! Photoshop! Something!

People’s director of public relations Sandi Shurgin Werfel told Fox News that the photos are legit. “Contrary to blog speculation, People did not photo-shop Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt’s smile. One can only guess that she is smiling because her parents are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.”

There’s a reason I’d smile.

The Spanish version of Hello! has hit the internet. It seems that we’ve got the complete spread of the Jolie-Pitt pics from Hello! and People.

Maddox is sporting a blue streak in his hair while Pax opted for blonde. Diva Shiloh has her her nails polished. The entire family is dressed in white, looking very natural and completely happy.

Brad and Angie are laughing off reports that they conceived via in vitro. “If they had been conceived by IVF, we would have been happy to discuss it,” Angie told People. “But we have been fortunate never to have had fertility problems.”

In fact, the couple was completely shocked when they found out they were having twins.

“We were in shock and could not stop laughing,” Angelina said.

Brad added, “We bust into hysterics. My sister had made a joke about twins literally the night before, because my grandparents and sis both had twins. Angie was on the table during the sonogram, and we were in hysterics. We didn’t see this one coming.”

Despite the large brood the family continues have already planned their next charity trip.

Angie: “The next trip for our Foundation will most likely be Asia to follow up on the situation in Burma and our work in Cambodia. The boys have been asking to go so we will take them when Knox and Viv are a little older.”

There next projects include “building TB/AIDS clinic in Ethiopia.”   They plan on taking Zahara there when she gets older.

People and Hello have has released the first photos of Knox and Vivianne. People snagged the North American rights while Hello! had Europe covered.

Here’s what Angie and Brad have to say about their growing brood.

“It is chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time,” Angelina told People about the family’s daily life. The old kids enjoy playing outdoors. Hide and Seek is the favorite.

Adds Pitt: “[It's] still a cuckoo’s nest.”

Brad thinks he sees the family resemblance already.

“Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality… And Knox, he’s a bit of me.”

The’ve even got some little helpers.

“[Shiloh] and Z pick out [the twins'] clothes and help change and hold them,” says Angelina “It’s sweet – they are little mommies.” There’s even a cute little picture of the Shiloh holding Vivienne.

The entire 19-page spread will hit newsstands this week.

Word on the street( Okay it’s not the street. It’s Just Jared. He’s like the street. Right?) is that People has snagged the the rights to Vivianne and Knox’s first photos. TMZ insists that the pics went for at least 16 million, while JJ says the photos went for between $10 million and $15 million. Of course the funds are set for charity. Speculation is that People paid between $3 million and $4 million for Shi’s photos though People has confirmed the price.

Rumor alert! Us Weekly is reporting that Brad and Angelina used fertility treatments to conceive the twins. A “well placed” source insists that our favorite couple went this route so they “wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant”. If the rumor is true(I highly doubt that it is), it would explain the twins. The chance of having fraternal twins jumps from 1 to 25 percent when couples conceive via in vitro.

This really doesn’t ring true. Angie got pregnant with Shiloh very quickly. This article suggests that Angie and Brad didn’t really give natural methods try but just jumped right in with fertility treatments. Oh well, I’m sure US Weekly didn’t get the baby photos so they’ve got to have something to print.

Just Jared contends that family will soon vacate their French Chateau for he ancient isles sooner rather later though the most recent photos show the family still in France. Bauergriffinonline.com has photos of the family hanging out the Brad’s parents Bill and Jane Pitt a few days after Angie left the hospital this weekend. That brings us to our next topic.

How exactly did Angie get out of the hospital without being seen?

People magazine is reporting that Angelina, Brad and twins left the French hospital around 3:50 a.m. when a grey minibus arrived in a previously closed section of hospital grounds. According to a witness, “There was a sudden spray of light out of the hospital’s garage way and then four or five people came out of that through a rear doorway. They stood behind the hospital in a small courtyard in the dark.”

The witness also described a flurry of activity that ended with swift exit. “This group of people got into the van, very quickly. . . . It was all done in a hurry. And they were very quick organizing themselves inside. Very rapid. And then ‘Pouf!’ they were gone.”

“With all the press attention around them, a constant watch on the front of the hospital, they managed to leave so quickly, my hat’s off to them,” the witness said.

At around 9:50 a.m Dr. Sessum confirmed the departure by telling reporters, “You can go home. The story is over.”

I wonder if they’re already in Greece. Angie looks great!

Angelina has left the building er….the hospital.

“Mrs Angelina Jolie left the clinic Santa Maria of Foundation Lenval early in the morning, on July 19. The mother and her babies are doing very well,” the Lenval hospital said in a statement on it’s website. Angie, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline left the hospital around 4AM. According to the hospital, the twins are doing “perfectly well”.

It’s go to hear that the children were able to go home so soon even though they were a little early.
