Angelina Jolie Watch

It appears that the family has settled in New York for Angelina’s Salt production.  She and Brad took the four oldest kids to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway.  The photos show the kids doing what kids do, Shiloh looks to be picking her nose, Zahara is sucking her thumb, Pax is sipping on some soft drink  while Maddox is the ever vigilant older brother.

The Little Mermaid is housed at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on West Street. Tickets prices range from $51.50 to $121.50. Prices for premium seating aren’t listed but somehow I’m sure Brad and Angie managed to muster up enough cash to secure those.

On the Salt front, we’ve got confirmation that Lieve Schreiber has joined the cast. It also looks as if British phenom Chiwetel Ejiofor is in negotiations.

The Jolie-Pitts managed to leave the US without much fanfare and have landed in Japan.  The family landed arrive at Narita International Airport on Tuesday in Narita, Chiba, Japan. The family’s in town for the Japanese Bejamin Button premiere.

As a result, we get to see clear photos of the twins probably since birth. Brad carried Knox and was flanked by Pax and Zahara while Angelina held on to Vivenne, Shiloh and Pax.

According to Angelina, the family is more than used to traveling. “Our kids are always packing. They like to pack; it’s a game in our house.”

As any working mother knows time to oneself is rare, “It can get very hard trying to find 20 minutes to close your eyes if you’ve been up since four in the morning,” Angelina said. “We travel so much, we never have to adjust. We change school time to four in the afternoon if we have to!”

Angelina and Maddox were spotted shopping for toys yesterday in New Orleans.  The eldest Jolie-Pittt got some alone time with mom at the Little Toy Shop which carries European toys and books(those may be more familiar to Maddox than American toys at this point.)  The shop, located in the French Quarters’ Jackson Square, closed down shop so that Angelina and Maddox could have some privacy.  A good time was had by all and Angelina still isn’t pregnant as witnessed by her clingy dress.

Shiloh, Zahara and Pax garnered the #2, #3 and #4 spots respectively in Forbes.com’s 2008 list of Hollywood’s 10 Hottest Tots.  The financial site “looked at both press clippings and Web presence for more than 50 A-list kiddies (5-years-old and younger) over the course of a year.”  After the list was narrowed down they used a polling company to compile “awareness data for the kids and consumer appeal rankings for their celebrity parents.”

“I think the public will always want to see these kids grow up,” said Buzz Foto founder Brad Elterman.

This is a bit of drop for Shiloh. She actually topped the list year. Zahara holding firm at the #3 spot.  Pax as actually moved up a bit.  He ranked #5.  The twins were too young to be included and the Maddox was too old.  I’m sure they aren’t too concerned.

According to Star magazine, the Jolie-Pitt kids were able to dress up and trick or treat just like regular kids. The family went door to door near their home in Malibu.  Zahara dressed as the Jolly Green Giant, Maddox donned a a marine outfit with a helmet, Pax wore a bat costume and Shiloh dressed as a sheriff. Shiloh was heard whining, “I want more candy, mom.” Angelina soothed, “You’ll get more, there are more houses.”

Shiloh didn’t want to walk so Brad scooped her up.  Witnesses report that Brad really got into his Leprechaun costume by taking on a funny Irish accent.  I’m glad the family got a chance to enjoy a holiday somewhat normally.  Good for them.   I wonder when Brad’s due back in Germany for filming.

The family loves spending time together:
“We have such a big family, such a close family, that we like being with each other a lot. We’re happy to spend a lot of time alone and meet new people wherever we go.”

The first picture of Brad Pitt’s photos of Angelina Jolie for W magazine have surfaced along with snippets of the W interview.

Here’s what she say about the intimate portraits:
“I’m with a man who’s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful, because of the journey it has taken and what it has created. He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel even sexier.”

About deciding to give birth to children:
“I think one of the life changing things that he did, one of many, is that I was absolutely never going to get pregnant. I never felt that it was the right thing to do. I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to (getting pregnant). I suddenly wanted to. It’s one of those things you can’t explain.”

About giving birth to three of her six children:
“I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. It taught me a lot about life, just the process of it, and now we have three other beautiful children that wouldn’t otherwise be here.

About her relationship with Brad:
“I do think that I’m in a good partnership now. I think it just needed to be the right man.”

You can just make out a little hand in the picture.  I wonder which of the twins it is.  I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.  Looks like Brad did a fantastic job.  This interview will reveal a lot about the family.  Kudos to our favorite couple for sharing their lives with us.

Angelina reveals in an Parade magazine interview that maternal instincts lead her to adopt Maddox. She met him once before she actually knew she would adopt him, “When I met my son Maddox, I went to Cambodia and left feeling I’d left something behind.” She returned the the country on a humanitarian mission, “… I felt, ‘My son’s here.’ It was the strangest feeling. I woke up that morning thinking, ‘They’re going to introduce me to my kid today and I wonder how I’m going to feel.’ And the moment I saw Maddox I knew I was his mother. I can’t explain it.”

Angelina adopted Maddox while she was still married to Billy Bob Thorton but she recieved sole custody of him. Angelina has said that she Maddox’s relationship with Brad help cement their relationship. He actually started calling Brad without their suggestion that he do so.

Okay yesterday they were in New Orleans and couple of days before that they were in New York and few days before that they were Germany and now they’ve returned to France.  Brad and Angie touched down at the Nice airport today with all six kids.  Brad and Angelina will soon return to Germany for Brad’s Inglorious Bastards’ shoot. Brad is southern character will be one of the only English speaking rolls in the film.

According to IMDB, to Angie is next slated to star in The Mercenary: Love and Honor. Angelina plays Catherine the Great who’s been asked “to provide twenty thousand Russian soldiers to help put down the resistance in America.” An American emissary is sent to squash the deal and the two fall in love. The moveis based on Love and Honor by Randall Wallace.

Angelina and Brad took their two oldest kids to New Orleans Ninth Ward for a look around The Make it Right site  In case you’ve forgotten, Make It Right is the charity founded by Brad Pitt to help rebuild the Katrina devastated Lower 9th Ward.  Make It Right are green and affordable.   The goal of the group is to build 150 homes.  This week Brad announced that Make it Right has raised enough funds to build 90 houses.

Looks like they are off to a good start. Brad and Angelina took some time to chat with locals and of course cuddle up.

Angelina has said that she and Brad will expose the kids to all families charitable endeavors with hopes that the kids follow in their footsteps.

The family is having a grand old time in the Big Apple. Friday, Angelina took the three oldest kids to Lee’s Art Shop. Angie and kids always hit up Lee’s when they are in New York.   Lee’s is a four story Manhattan landmark that features every art supply under the sun.  They’ve even got a remodeled toy department on the second floor. Friday night Angelina attended a Changeling Dinner at Il Bucco. For the occasion she rocked out a gray trench that matched her eyes. I really like her hair a bit longer with just a hint of curl.

Il Bucco is a well known Italian restaurant that was actually started by and independent filmmaker. Though Angie attended solo she was joined by the rest of the Changeling cast.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, Angelina and Brad may host a charity event during the Democratic National Convention which will be held in Denver August 25-28. The couple is supposedly in talks with “a local promoter” about the event. No word on what charity it will benefit or if the event is part of the official festivities. If Brad and Angie are taking advantage of all the big wigs in town. My guess is the latter. If this is things comes off, they’ll have the full attention of lots of deep pocket big wigs. They could collect a tidy sum for charity. If I had to take a guess, and this is only a guess, I’d guess the event will benefit rebuilding New Orleans.

In other news, Maddox celebrated his 7th birthday on Tuesday. To celebrate he spent the entire day with dad racing go-karts. “It was just Maddox and Brad,” says a source. “Just father-son time.” Even though dad has more real life experience it was Maddox who crossed the finish line first. Mom stayed home to watch the rest of the brood. Luckily she has help because I can’t imagine taking care of three-week-old twins and 3 kids under five. Kudos to any of you out there who has.

In still other news Brad’s been cast in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II action-drama Inglorious Bastards,. Brad is set to play “play a Southern rebel who assembles a team of eight prisoners-turned-soldiers to battle the Nazis.” Filming starts on October 13th in Germany. I guess that means the family are hunkered down in Europe for a bit longer.

Heard any good Angie and Brad news lately?

Brad and kids spent some time at Bono’s home in Eze, France on Tuesday. Brad can be seen swinging Pax in the air. You can just make out the top of Zahara and Pax’s head. Brad’s also talking to DeNiro’s wife Grace Hightower. The couple brought brought along 12-year-old twins Julian and Aaron(there mom is DeNiro’s ex Tookie Smith) and son Elliot, 10.

Angelina got a visit from the girls yesterday and Maddox today. (Shiloh is so cute. She’s holding on to her dollies for dear life. While Maddox is rocking the blond again. He’s such a rocker.)

According to a French newspaper, Angie is on fifth floor of the hospital with an unobstructed view of the Bay of Angels. The paper also says that Angie has reserved four rooms on the maternity ward and has at least one bodyguard on the floor.

The Fondation Lenval ” is a 133-bed hospital in Nice, France, that specializes in the care of children and teens. Established in 1884, it has a history of treating children whose parents do not have the resources for medical care.” Angie’s probably paying about $200 a night for each room.

The girls road with dad to see mom while Maddox traveled with a bodyguard. The French publication also reports that Angie arrived by helicopter.

There are some pics floating around the internet that are supposedly of Angie showing her pregnant belly.  There appears to be a Brad-looking person standing next to her.  It really doesn’t look like her to me.  The hair is all wrong(doesn’t this woman have light hair?) and the guy doesn’t look as buff as Brad.  Also doesn’t she have tattoo on her pelvis?  Wouldn’t we see it peaking out? Where’s her C-Section scar.  I doubt she’d flash reporters after going through all the trouble to have her doc hold a press conference.  Seems weird to me but maybe Angie was having some fun with the paps.  What do you guys think?

On naming their youngest Shiloh:

“It’s a biblical name,�? she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.

On how how she’s exposing her children to different religions:

“[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.�?

On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly:

“After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in the movies.”
