Angelina and Brad are at it again. This time our favorite power couple is doing their bit for the youngest victim’s of Katrina. The Jolie-Pitts spent Saturday morning educating themselves and the rest of the world about children’s health care in the wake of Katrina. According to The Children’s Health Fund, nearly 46,000 children are still struggling with physical and emotional problems.
During the press conference, held at New Orleans’ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School, Angelina said she was compelled to learn more about the situation because of her work as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
“This is the largest displacement of children in my own country so I want to learn as much as possible,” she said.
Angelina talked about the many downtrodden children she sees in her travels but found the children of New Orleans were “feisty, fun and full of pride. They know where they’re going and what they’re going to do. It’s that kind of spirit that will help everyone get through this.”
Brad, who’s Make it Right Project, is looking to build 150 homes in the lower 9th Ward said it’s about more than houses.
“We’re focused on community building,” he said. “It’s not just about homes. It’s not just about building. It’s about the lack of focus on education and health care too.”
Despite the seriousness of the subject, Brad and Angie took time to visit with local youth.

Jasoniqua Stewart was lucky enough to take a picture with Brad and Angie. “I just said ‘hi’ to the. They said ‘hi’ back. Now I’m going to put this picture on the wall in my room.”
