Angelina Jolie Watch

Angelina Jolie wore a black wig for Salt scenes yesterday.  If I’m not mistaken, these scenes  feature  the NYPD’s Pipes & Drums of the Emerald Society.  According to the New York Post, the renowned band is playing in Midtown  for a Salt funeral scene.   Band member are active and retired police officers of Irish decent.

Angelina and Brad take turns filming so that at least one parent can be with the kids.  Yesterday Brad took the oldest boys to lunch at a kid friendly NYC eatery.

Evelyn Salt wears numerous disguises as she evades capture and tries to clear her name. Perhaps this signals the conclusion of Angelina’s blonde wig filming.   Liev Schreiber plays Evelyn’s friend who’s also a player in Russian intelligence. Interesting that his character has filmed in both New York and Washington DC. This will be a very interesting thriller.

While Angelina Jolie was scaling walls with a single bond this week, Brad Pitt took the their two oldest boys to a kid friendly Manhattan favorite.   Yesterday Brad, Maddox and Pax visited the alien themed Mars 2112.   According to OK! magazine, Brad called ahead to reserve a VIP table.

Looks like we aren’t the only one that are starstruck.  Mars waiters fought over who would wait on Brad and the kids. “Waiters were squabbling over who got to serve them,” one witness told OK! “I overheard one of them complaining to a co-worker, ‘It was my turn to wait on Brad!’”

Brad and the boys enjoyed video games including Crazy Taxi, Tekken 5 and Madden Season 2.  Fellow diners heard Brad refer to Pax as “Paxie” and Madox as “Mad”.

Now for the aw moment.  Brad made a birthday boy’s day.  “He just went over to these little boys and asked, ‘Is it someone’s birthday?’ ” a witness said. “One of the kids pointed to his friend and said, ‘It’s his.’ Brad gave that famous smile and said, ‘Happy birthday, man!’ to the boy, and before he left he handed him a gift card loaded with credits to play games.”

Angelina Jolie wore her favorite puffy, black coat while filming in NYC yesterday. The coat come from North Face and I wondered how much it cost and if any were still available. The W Triple C coat provides “head-to-toe coverage.  The coat is “reminiscent of wrapping yourself in a mummy sleeping bag” but has “the flexibility of actually being able to walk, not hobble”

This bundle of goodness runs $299.  They do have some in stock. Unfortunately sizes are limited. Only medium  and large are left in black. It  also comes in a pale green, brown white.

Angelina continued to film in Washington Height NYC yesterday. She’s wearing the same suit she wore during Washington DC filming earlier this week. It also looks like the suit she wore while scaling walls on Thursday in approximately the same location. It’ll be interesting to see how they script Angie barefoot and bloody in two cities wearing the same outfit. If you have time to travel from place to place don’t you have time to grab a cheap pair of shoes?

The white haired gentleman you see with Angelina in the photos is director Phillip Noyce.  They worked in together in the Bone Collector. Enjoy the photos !

Angelina Jolie is  back in New York working on Salt.  Though Angie does have a stunt double reports suggest that’s she’s doing 90% of her own stunts.  In the latest photos, she’s wearing the  blonde wig she wore while shooting the traffic scenes in Washington DC.  She’s still sporting the same, most likely makeup induced, cut knee for the NYC shoot.

The scenes were shot in midtown Manhattan. That’s  also where she’s been spotted for early rehearsals and primary shooting. I’m not sure where Brad and the kids are. The family rented a Lloyd Neck, New York estate. Wonder if the rest of the family is at the estate or stays in the city while Angelina films. Maybe we’ll spot them out and about this weekend.  Enjoy the photos.

Angelina donned her favorite basic black for Salt’s pre-production camera tests.  Click on the pics below an you’ll see that she’s carrying a copy of the New York  Times.  We can expect Angelina and the girls to leave New York soon.  The Oscars are Sunday night.

Angelina took Shiloh and Zahara to one of their favorites New York haunts, Lee’s Art shop.   Whenever the family’s in New York , the kids are treated to  a trip to the arts and crafts mecca. The girls are growing up fast.  Shiloh is nearly as tall at Zahara.    Angelina spent part of yesterday looking for an apartment  that the family will use while she shoots Edwin Salt.

Angelina, and perhaps Brad, has traveled from the West Coast to the East Cost over the past few days.  Brad and Angie were spotted at the uber trendy Katsuya restaurant Sunday night.  One paparazzi asked Brad and Angie if they are trying to compete with Nadya Suleman aka OctoMom. Brad responded with a cheeky, “Yeah we sure we are.” This was the second trip for the couple who also had dinner their Friday.

Today Angelina was spotted apartment shopping in New York. The family will settle there while Angelina films the spy thriller Edwin A. Salt. They’ve already secured a Lloyd Neck estate. Angie’s probably trying to find something in the heart the city for when she has long shoots.

Angelina’s Salt character is a CIA agent who’s been accused of spying for the Russians.  She escapes capture and tries to prove her innocence.  Salt features at least one scene where Angelina goes undercover as a man in order to sneak into a the White House.   An “insider” talked with Life & Style about the coming transformation, “I’m sure she’ll give Brad [Pitt], who aged in reverse in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a run for his money in the makeup department.”

Though the film is very close to starting not everyone has been cast.  In fact, Liev Schreiber(Naom Watt’s baby daddy) is in talks to join the cast.  Phillip Noyce who last worked with Angelina in The Bone Collector will direct.  It’ll be nice to see Angelina do a bit of action.  Sounds they’ve got a strong team in the works.

Rumors are swirling that Angelina and Brad are set to rent a huge Lloyd Neck, New York estate while she films Salt. According Jon Cooper, a Suffolk county legislature they are renting estate called Sassafras. “They’re renting a house a couple of doors down from me … only for a few months.” Cooper that he received the information from “reliable sources.”

The $60 million waterfront property, which hasn’t been occupied for several years, “has 25 rooms, including eight bedrooms and 12 baths.”   The property’s guest house has 6 bedrooms, the staff house has 11 bedrooms.

The 48-acre estate was once listed as one of  Forbes’ 10 most expensive homes in North American.

The home is similar to the German and French homes the family has lived it.  The acerage surrounding the main house allows the  family to  play and enjoy the water without the paparazzi taking photos of them.   It’ll be interesting to see if Brad can keep the family out of sight while Angelina films in the United States.  Angelina’s been able to do it while Brad films in Europe but the U.S. press is very persistent

There are lots of rumors floating around that Angelina did not attend Thursday’s Changeling press conference.  She actually did.

The belief that she’d be present had been fueled by comments from a spokesman for the Toronto International Film Festival, who suggested last month that TIFF passed on showcasing “Changeling” because Jolie couldn’t be present for the gala premiere.

Clint Eastwood responded that there was never a plan for Angelina to attend the press event but she did manage to make it.

Debunking all the postpartum depression rumors, Angelina has looked radiant and happy at every New York sighting this weekend. “Everybody’s great,” she told People at last night’s Changeling premier. . “The babies are getting big and healthy and developing personalities.”    Here’s what else she had to say at the red carpet premier.

About C-Section recovery:
“I run around with all the other kids, and I’m breastfeeding, which I think is a part of your body’s recovery,” Jolie said. “I feel great [and] feel very happy that they’re healthy.”

How they manage to take of six kids:
“We are a little bit [sleep deprived]. We have some help a couple of nights a week, so on those nights we catch up on our sleep.”

On adopting more children:
“I think we’re going to wait a little while.”

The family is having a grand old time in the Big Apple. Friday, Angelina took the three oldest kids to Lee’s Art Shop. Angie and kids always hit up Lee’s when they are in New York.   Lee’s is a four story Manhattan landmark that features every art supply under the sun.  They’ve even got a remodeled toy department on the second floor. Friday night Angelina attended a Changeling Dinner at Il Bucco. For the occasion she rocked out a gray trench that matched her eyes. I really like her hair a bit longer with just a hint of curl.

Il Bucco is a well known Italian restaurant that was actually started by and independent filmmaker. Though Angie attended solo she was joined by the rest of the Changeling cast.

The family landed in New York today for Angelina’s October 4th Changeling premier.  Angelina, Brad and the kids flew from Berlin where they set up house while Brad films the World War II thriller Inglorious Bastards. This marks the first spontaneous sighting since Angie gave birth to the twins. (I’ll have to remember that I really love her because no one should look this good after giving birth to three children.)

According to Angie’s stylist Jen Rade, Angie is ready to unveil a post pregnancy look.  Rade wouldn’t give any details but said that Angelina is going for “kind of classic with a rock and roll edge”.

Meanwhile, Brad is already getting praise from his Bastards co-stars.

Brad already impressed me at the first rehearsal,” gushed Bastards costar Christian Berkel.

“He’s very funny and an extremely likeable person who acts totally normal, not at all like a huge star.” Added said costar Gedeon Burkhard: “Brad is an extremely cool guy and the best actor in the world.”

No word on the family’s lodgings.    I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.

Angelina’s Changeling poster is out.  It features Angelina’s face in shadow and the shadowed face of a a little boy. We can expect Angelina to make her first post-twins red carpet appearance on October 4th when Changeling premiers a the New York Film Festival.

Changeling will premier at 9:15 p.m. on October 4th.  It’ll show again,this time with no Angie, at 11:00 a.m. Tickets are $35-$40.  I probably won’t be able to swing another jaunt for a few months but I’d love to hear from any our readers and fans that were able to make it.  (Hint:  Pics would be even more awesome.)

This video was taken before she and Maddox ventured out in the afternoon. Photogs yelled “Congratulations” to Angie but she didn’t take the bait.

Maddox and Angelina tried to hide from the paps Tuesday but it didn’t exactly work out for them. They’ll be able to rest a bit easier once they get back to Texas. I’m sure Maddox enjoys having mom all to himself but misses Dad dad and his siblings.
