Angelina Jolie Watch

Thanks to Pink is the New Blog we know that Angelina and Brad took the three oldest kids to a movie at Southpark Meadows in Austin at some point during the weekend. We’re not sure what the family saw but PINB seems to think it was either Nim’s Island or Horton Hears a Who.

Brad and Angie took the older kids out for some goodies and game shopping at a Texas Game Stop on Monday afternoon. Looks like Pax and Zahara were more interested in the sweet treats they picked up at a nearby convenience store. Is Mad carrying a little wallet? That’s just awfully cute. He seems like the kind of kid that would stash some money away. I wonder what game Maddox picked up. I believe I see some chocolate in Zahara’s dainty little hand.(A girl after my own heart.)Shiloh was probably taking her afternoon beauty sleep. A cover girl has to get her rest. I’m not sure if I’m like the no-goatee Brad. I was sort of digging the facial hair. Angelina is glowing as always. Can’t wait to welcome the newest Jolie-Pitt.

According to ETonline, our couple might have tied the knot this weekend in New Orleans. The rumor mill has it that Brad’s parents, Angie’s brother James and all four little Jolie-Pitts were at the ceremony. ET contacted Brad’s rep who had “no idea” if they’d gotten married.

Updated while writing: People reports there was no wedding this weekend. Too bad. Maybe next time. Cause we know there will be a next time.

FYI on origination of the rumor: Seems Star magazine started the whole mess by claiming to “exclusively” reveal that Brad and Angie tied the knot in the French Quarter.  The rag says we can get all the details in this week’s edition which hits stands Wednesday.  I might just buy this foolishness just see how, and if, they backtrack.  Wow, they really stepped in it this time.   Not that they care.  I honestly can’t believe that ET piggy backed off something Star printed.  That really surprises me.

Angelina and Brad spent the weekend in New Orleans. Brad met with former president Bill Clinton “to greet volunteers and break ground for new homes in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday.” (I can’t wait to see one of the houses finished.)

Clinton represented the Clinton Global Initiative University which challenges “college students and universities to tackle global problems with practical, innovative solutions. At CGI U, young people and universities will do more than simply discuss the world’s challenges – they will take real, concrete steps towards solving them.”

The inaugural meeting of CGI U was held at Tulane University. I’m not sure if Brad went to any of those meetings but we’ll find out soon enough.

During the press conference President Clinton said, “The way to really get New Orleans all the way back and all the way back in a hurry is to rebuild in the right way and make it a long-term, five- to six-year commitment, to create a much higher base level of jobs through this whole energy efficiency endeavor.�?

Angie didn’t attend any of the official festivities. Instead she hung out with the kids. They indulged in snack food goodness and took a trip to the corner store. (The Southerner in me does love a corner store.)There’s nothing quite like a kid covered in orange Cheeto dust. Good times. I dig the billowing dresses that Angelina wears. They look comfy but are still stylish. I’m glad she’s taking his opportunity to wear some brighter colors.

According to TMZ, Pax’s adoption is official. The couple appeared before an L.A. County Children’s Court in Monterey Park, Calif yesterday and finalized Pax’s adoption. I’m not sure how exactly this works.

We know that Angie had to adopt Pax from Vietnam alone because she and Brad aren’t married. Vietnam doesn’t allow domestic partners to adopt. I don’t remember if they frown on single men adopting alone or totally forbid.

The adoption had to first be approved in Vietnam and then cleared in the United States. Angie and Brad’s people only say that the adoption is final. I don’t know what that means exactly.

I’m just not sure where Brad is in the process. Did he officially adopt Pax yesterday? Anyone know?

Whatever the case, Congratulations to Pax and the entire Jolie-Pitt family.

Brad and Angelina took Maddox and Pax to a panderia(Latin American bakery) in Hollywood yesterday If you listen closely you’ll hear Pax mimic Brad. Brad says, “Alright boys.” as he loads them into the SUV. Pax says the same in the sweetest voice. Angelina and Brad adopted him less than a year ago(in March of 2007). It looks like his English is coming along nicely. I do love seeing video of the family but I’m torn when photogs get so close to the kids. They’ll need more bodyguards as the family expands. (I’m still waiting to hear…)People complain that they never see all the kids at once. It’s understandable when your family’s safety is at risk. It’s hard enough to control four kids without people following you around.

Angelina and Brad took the kids to Mammoth Lakes, Calif on Friday. The entire family took the trip but only Pax and Maddox are in these pics. Pax tried his hands at skiing while Maddox rocked the snowboard. The kids are safely suited up in helmets and warm clothing.

I checked out the Mammoth Lakes site and they bill themselves as “California’s premier winter resort” where you can ski, snowshoe, sled and snowboard. The town also has an ice rink and some lovely real estate.

The Jolie-Pitts can certainly afford a cold weather home and these homes look fairly reasonable especially for a resort town. It’s good to see the family taking have some fun. Neither Brad or Angelina appears to be working right now. They really do make the most of family time.

First thing. These pictures are blurry. It’s not your screen. But hey, they are recent pictures of the family so I’ll take them.

Second thing. These photos were actually taken on Friday so I don’t know if this was just a day trip of if the family is still in Santa Barbara. Time will tell.

And now for the pictures. Looks like Zee is sucking on that thumb and has some uber cute pink luggage. Mad is decked out in camouflage(he does love it) and sunglasses. Pax has on a white sweatshirt and blue jeans-I think. Shiloh is being carried by Dad. Randi has some pics of her actually walking. It’s hard to believe she’s 20 months old. Angelina is decked out in a thick jacket so we can’t see the baby bumb(untill I hear otherwise it’s a baby bump).

On to the pics.

Last week the Jolie-Pitts spent some time in Brad’s hometown of Springfield of Missouri. On Friday(January 4th) they took the kids to a local Chuck E Cheese. Brad, Angie, Jane Pitt(Brad’s mom) and several nieces and nephews ate pizza and played arcade games for approximately two hours. Angie carried Shiloh while the older kids played. At one point Brad even dolled our tokens.

This was the second pizza meal for the family who also dined with a larger familial group at Arri’s Pizza two days before. Apparently the family enjoys hanging out in the small city(population 150,000) because no one pays much attention to the superstars.

“They like Springfield because no one ever bothers them,�? says a source.

Arri’s co-owner Tani Kremer found the kids extremely polite with them intoning “please” and “thank you” when they wanted more pizza. And let’s face it. Who doesn’t want more pizza?

Unfortunately the family only got to spend a few days with the Pitt clan before heading off to California for the Critic’s Choice Awards.

Per the guidelines of Pax’s adoption, Angelina(Unmarried couples aren’t allowed to adopt from Vietnam so only her name is on the papers)has sent an annual report concerning Pax’s well being to Vietnamese officials. Pax was adopted on March 15, 2007 in Ho Chi Min City and recently celebrated his 4th birthday. According to VietNamNet, Angelina’s letter detailed how well the second oldest Jolie-Pitt is doing.

Angelina wrote, “We believe he feels very safe in his home. He laughs, sings, tells stories and is very fun to be around. He has a great sense of humor and is very imaginative. He is up to date with all his medical exams and vaccinations and has a very big appetite and developing properly. He is a wonderful addition to our family. We love him very much.”

The letter noted that Pax’s English is progressing nicely as he can now speak in complete sentences and tells funny stories. I was surprised to learn that Pax and Zahara are currently in kindergarten together. (Kudos to Angie and Brad for managing to keep the location a secret.)

Vietnamese law requires parents who adopt internationally to provide periodic updates “on the progress of the child periodically during the first three years following adoption, and at least once every year later till the child is 18 years of age.”

The letter was mailed from the family’s California home and included two snapshots of Pax(see one above).

It’s good to know that Pax is adjusting so well. I can’t believe it hasn’t even been a year since the adoption.

All three of the younger Jolie-Pitt kids have been named to Forbes Hollywood’s Most Influential Infants List(Maddox was too old to be considered). Shiloh took the top spot which is based on media attention and web presence. The youngest Jolie-Pitt snagged a reported $4.1 million payday from People magazine for her first cover only days after her birth.   A star had been born-literally.  E-Poll Market Research found that Shiloh in over 2,000 articles.

Zahara is fast on her baby sister’s heels, securing the number three list(darn that Suri Cruise her unending cuteness). Forbes points out that Zahara was seen sporting a Valentino that exactly matched her mom’s. And what photog can resist all that attitude and moxy?

Pax took home the number five slot even though his web media presence isn’t quite that of his sibs being part of the famous brood gives him a bit of edge. Of course his hip messy mane and shy smile don’t hurt.

Danielle Friedland of celebrity-babies.com said, “We can’t really identify with the lives celebrities lead and the luxuries they have. But what we can identify with is their parenting and their love for their children.”

I’d say congratulations to the Shiloh, Pax and Zahara but I’m sure they are more interested in play dates, crayons and juice cups than any celebrity kid lists.

Brad’s Birthday is on the 18th and you can be sure that Angelina and the kids have something special in store. Papa Pitt turns 44 this year and according to OK! Magazine he can expect hand made cards from the kids.

Maddox, Pax and Zahara have wielded crayons and scissors for the big day. A source close the family says, “Zahara loves coloring and said she wanted to make a card for Daddy. Then Maddox and Pax joined in. They were drawing and doodling, trying to outdo each other.”

Rumor has it that Angie gifted Brad with a motorcycle last year. While I’m sure he loved the new toy, nothing pleases him more than spending time with his family. “His family is the best birthday gift Brad could ever have,�? says the source. “Shiloh’s always been a daddy’s girl, and nothing makes Brad smile more than playing with her.�?

Happy early birthday to Brad.  I’m sure you’ll have a great day.

Tuesday Pax got to visit mom on The Changeling set. Wow. He’s really growing up, trendy hair and all. I wonder what the other kids are up to. This is our very first glimpse of a Jolie-Pitt tyke since they arrived in California. Good for Angelina and Brad. Way to dodge the press. I’m sure the kids needed a break after the madhouse that was New York.
