Personal Post:Consider Joining an Alzheimer’s Memory Walk
I’m going to take a moment and some personal privilege to veer off topic just a bit. During the last years of her life my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s. For my family is was difficult, confusing and debilitating. Perhaps your family has struggled with this awful illness as well.
If you have been touched by this illness in any way I’m asking you to join the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.
The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are walks in more than 600 communities. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.
We who’ve been touched by the disease often feel helpless and lost. This walk is an opportunity for us fight Alzheimer’s. Please consider joining a team or volunteering for the walk in general. We can find a cure.
I know that this isn’t strictly on topic but consider Angie’s activism and humanitarianism I thought you guys wouldn’t mind.
