Brad Pitt Spends $1 Million on Art

Brad Pitt turned up at a Swizz art exhibit yesterday and spent nearly $1 million on an additions to his art collection. Brad bought an Neo Rauch oil painting titled Etappe from Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland. According the Wall Street Journal, Brad didn’t snap the painting up immediately. New York art dealer David Zwirner said Brad rubbed his “goatee, fiddled with his tweed driving cap, and walked away.”
“He’s on the fence. Nothing wrong with that, I guess,” said Zwirner.
Brad returned with collectors Eli and Edythe Broad. They encouraged Brad to buy the 1998 painting of a “Formula One-style racecar, with workers nearby carrying candy-colored hoses.”
“I told him we had four Rauchs and if he didn’t buy it, we probably would,” Board said.
Brad does so much for others. It’s nice to see do something for himself. Check out he photos below. Brad event took the time to take photos with fans.

Brad dishes out 1 million on a peice of art that does nothing for the true causes of this world. THE rich get rich, and indulge on themselves…yes he does give to the poor in other countries, but that 1 million could benefit so many americans that are underpriveledged, poor, and homeless. We are your income brad..without us u wouldnt be rich. Give back to americans by helping the needy, not some artwork.

Maggie,
Please do your research before you spout off on this site. Brad has given millions of dollars to create homes for displaced Katrina victims. That’s just one of the may causes he’s worked tirelessly for. In any case, Brad and any other rich person is entitled to spend their money as they wish. Just like you are entitled to revoke your support of actors and corporations if you don’t agree with how they spend their money.

KD - I sooo agree with you. Brad has every right to spend his money on whatever he wants to. Like you said - and we all know - he has done a lot to help those people in New Orleans who lost their homes at Hurricane Katrina. He has put millions of dollars out of his own pocket to rebuild the city and helped other needy people in many other countries too. So if he wants to buy a painting it´s his private matter. Maybe he bought it for his boys because at least Mad (and certainly also Pax) loves cars and speed. So maybe Brad the Dad will give it to his boys one day when they´re older. God bless Brad and his beautiful family!

Maggie,Brad is rich because he worked really hard.He doesn’t own americans or any other fan he has around the world his money.Yes without his fans he wouldn’t be that successful but his money are HIS money. The only thing that we do is watching his movies for our own entertainment.
And besides KD and Kati are so right.Brad has given a lot of his own money to charity, not to mention what Angie has done for refugees around the world.Brad has every right to buy something for him for a change.Do you spend ALL your exrta money to charity?

KD,
Thanks for the pictures. I am digging the painting reminds me of early modernist art in New York. I think Brad is very savvy in how he wants to invest his money.

LOL Maggie do some research before your preach.
Brad’s projects in America include:
-New Orleans
-Books for schools in mid West, now spread out
-Care:(mid West), providing extravagant things like clothes, shoes, food and books to poor school kids and their families.
-Money to help children of war veterans
I could go on Maggie, but I don’t think you truly believe in what you spewed. It seems like a knee jerk reaction similar to that of people who just read the tabloids.
